Bengaluru: Under pressure from the lecturers’ association, who were threatening of evaluation boycott, the state government has decided to postpone the reopening of the II PUC classes in the government and the government aided colleges to May 20. Earlier it was decided to start the classes from May 6.
After a meeting between the representatives of the association, MLCs elected from the teachers’ constituencies and the officials from the Pre University education department in the presence of the CM, a decision in this regard was taken.
Earlier, keeping in mind the interests of the poor students who study in the government PU colleges, the state government had decided to start classes from May 6, but the lecturers opposed this move and warned even of boycotting the II PUC final examination evaluation process.
