Bengaluru: Ramamurthy Nagar police have arrested four persons for allegedly attacking BBMP staff involved in pulling down the illegal flexes and banners near Tin factory area of the city.
“The incident took place on Thursday night when the BBMP staff were busy removing the flexes erected illegally as per a High Court directive. These four persons objected to removal of the flexes claiming they have written permission from the corporation. When BBMP staff informed them that they are working as per the HC directives, they didn’t listen and tried to manhandle them,” said a police personnel.
More than 19,000 flexes and banners were removed across the city within 24 hours during the drive. Residents appreciated the High court’s intervention in the matter and the subsequent order passed thus saving the city from the flexes and banners.
