Bengaluru: Deputy Commissioner Vijay Shankar has been taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials in the IMA Ponzi scam here on Monday, July 8.
The SIT officials have also nabbed builder Krishnamurthy in this connection.
Clarifying on taking DC Vijay Shankar into custody, the officials said that he was taken into custody for investigation and gather more information on the case.
It may be recalled that two days ago, Assistant Commissioner of Bengaluru North, L C Nagaraj was arrested.
The IMA Ponzi scam had come to light in the month of June this year, after its founder fugitive Mansoor Ali Khan had released an audio tape threatening to end his life. It was estimated that the scam is of the magnitude of around Rs 2000 to 3000 Crore with over 40000 investors duped.
