Bengaluru: The CBI, which is investigating Rs.4,000 crores IMA scam filed supplementary chargesheet on Saturday. In this chargesheet, IPS officers Hemant Nimbalkar and Ajay Hilori have been named.
It has been alleged that both these officers colluded with IMA chief Mansoor Khan and helped him to collect money.
This comes as big blow to the state police force.
It can be recalled that when Justice N Santosh Hegde was the state Lokayukta, Lokayukta police had raided on Nimbalkar. But Lokayukta police were not able to recover any major item or trace properties above his income.
A private firm called I Monetary Advisory Group floated a ponzi scheme offering investors dream returns to the tune of 36 to 64 per cent on investments. The investment schemes of the firm were pitched as being in line with Sharia principles of Islam.
