Bengaluru: Following the arrest of Bengaluru Urban DC, and other senior bureaucrats, the state government decided to bring a new law to curb IMA like scams. As part of the plan, soon the state government is likely to bring a new law allowing the police to seize the properties of the tainted companies.

According to the sources, the state home department is considering such a proposal. Under the proposal, the police will be allowed to take suo moto action.

“The IMA scam left the state government in a sticky wicket. The allegations that senior officers colluded with the promoters of the company has come as a big embarrassment to the state government. Keeping in mind all this, the new law has been proposed,” informed authorities.
