An IndiGo flight (6E-498) from Jaipur to Bengaluru startled passengers with an unexpected landing maneuver on Sunday. The aircraft, which departed at 11:50 am, was set to land in Bengaluru at 2:37 pm when it briefly touched down but then ascended again.
This maneuver, known as a go-around, is a standard safety procedure when pilots decide that the landing approach is not optimal. While common, it left passengers feeling uneasy. Crew members quickly reassured them that the aircraft was functioning normally and that the maneuver was a precautionary measure.
A passenger recalled that while the explanation helped calm nerves, lingering anxiety remained until the flight finally landed safely after circling for 20 minutes.
According to IndiGo officials, the go-around was caused by an unstable approach, and they emphasized that the aircraft did not experience any technical issues. The airline reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety as the top priority.
