Bengaluru: A recent incident involving an Indigo flight has drawn attention after 150 passengers faced an unexpected delay upon landing at Kempegowda International Airport. Flight No. 6E 373 from Jaipur to Bengaluru arrived late, and the ground staff, responsible for assisting passengers off the aircraft, were absent. This caused an additional 30-minute delay inside the aircraft.

The flight, initially scheduled to depart at 11:05 pm on January 18, took off at 12:20 am, a 75-minute delay. The aircraft reached Terminal 1 runway at around 3 am, when most passengers, already tired from the late arrival, were looking to disembark. However, they were informed by the captain that ground staff were unavailable, keeping everyone on board.

Passenger Aniruddha Das, an advertising professional, described the situation as unexpected, noting that though the flight was full, there were no outbursts, and passengers remained calm while waiting. “It was a rare scenario. I’ve never encountered a delay due to missing ground staff,” he shared.

After disembarking, passengers faced another half-hour wait at the baggage claim. In response, Indigo apologized for the delay in ground operations and assured customers that they were informed throughout the process.

This incident adds to a series of strange occurrences at Bengaluru airport, including a 17-hour bathroom mishap on a SpiceJet flight and a Go First flight leaving behind 55 passengers last year.
