Bengaluru: The industrial units in all zones, barring the red zones can be opened after May 4, said CM B S Yediyurappa.

Speaking after the cabinet meet on Thursday, BSY said that it is not going to be surprising if the Corona crisis continues for a few more months.

“However, our focus should be on bringing the economy back on track, without compromising on safety and security of the people,” he said.

The CM said that he will hold a meeting with the businessmen and other stakeholders on Thursday evening and discuss about the plans to move ahead.

“Starting the economic activities amidst the corona crisis is a big challenge for the Government. We need to do it tactfully because it is the need of the hour too. The Centre too is focusing on the same and after May 4, the centre will take decisions that will support the economy,” said the CM adding that malls and hotels (parcel service allowed) cannot open.

The CM also said that despite pressure to open the liquor shops in the state, the decision in this regard will be taken only after May 3.

Meanwhile, the CM urged the media to refrain from telecasting and publishing news that can cause panic among the people.
