Infosys foundation extends Rs.18 crores help to government schools

Bengaluru: Infosys Foundation has extended a help of Rs18 crores to the government schools in the state.

This amount will be utilised for computer education in the schools.

An announcement in this regard was made in a meeting between Infosys Foundation chief Sudha Murthy and primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar.

Sudha Murthy also assured additional funding if required.

Minister Suresh Kumar informed that 1,000 schools will be identified for the teacher’s training program. Once the list is completed, the state government will sign an MoU with the Foundation.

He also called upon the teachers and the SDMCs to utilise the new initiative for the school’s betterment.
