Bengaluru: Software major Infosys on Monday said it has signed a three-year deal to digitize the software tools of Tennis Australia to offer rich experiences of its sporting events to fans worldwide.

“We have entered into a three-year partnership with Tennis Australia to digitize its software tools like big data and analytics, artificial intelligence and virtual and augmented reality,” said the city-based IT firm in a statement here.

As the governing body of the sport Down Under, Tennis Australia promotes tennis and has been conducting tournaments like the Australian Open grand slam every January in Melbourne since 1905.

“The partnership will create new ways of experiencing the grand slam. The deal will enable us to show how digital technologies enhance the tournament and change the way matches are watched, analysed and played,” said Infosys Chief Executive Salil Parekh on the occasion.

The strategic tie-up also reaffirms the company’s commitment in the region where it partners with enterprises to drive their digital transformation.

“Partnering with Infosys is our quest to innovate the grand slam and engage with new audiences the world over. We know the importance of data and insights to improve connections with fans, players, coaches and the tennis community,” said Australia Open Director Craig Tiley.
