Integrated support centre for women, children inaugurated in B’luru

Bengaluru: The ‘Nirbhaya Kendra-Sakhi one-stop centre’ was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant on Friday February 25. Funded under the Centre’s Safe City Project, it will include an integrated support centre for both women and children.

The unit, which is a temporary one is located inside the BMTC bus terminal at Majestic. The permanent office will be located on Infantry Road, next to the City Police Commissioner’s office.

“The Nirbhaya Kendra will provide facility for medical examination, videographed recording of statement during investigation, remote recording of survivor’s evidence through VC link with court, free legal aid, psychologist services and counselling – all under one roof!” tweeted official Twitter handle of Bengaluru Police.
