Introduce Digital Youth concept throughout the country: B.R. Naidu

Bengaluru: KPCC Social Media Wing Convenor B. R. Naidu made a request to All India Congress Committee (AICC) to introduce the ‘Digital Youth’ concept throughout the country.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar when ascending to power had introduced ‘Digital Youth’ concept in the State. The concept has been efficiently utilised by Congress for varies purposes beginning from booth-level social networking activities to providing health aid during Covid crisis. Hence, Naidu requested for its nation wide introduction.

Speaking to Rahul Gandhi via video conferencing, Naidu detailed on effective social media utilisation done during the oath ceremony of D. K. Shivkumar as President of KPCC. He informed that WhatsApp groups at the village level was created utilising these digital youth to train Covid warriors on social media. Through Arogya Hasta programme, identification of asymptomatic covid patients were done through house visits. I make a request to introduce this concept of ‘Digital Youth’ throughout the country, he added.

Stating that social media is a powerful tool in framing public opinion and BJP media is utilising it to spread fake news, Naidu asked Rahul Gandhi for advice on how should the Congressmen face such fake news standing firm on their ideology.

Rahul Gandhi informed that it is impossible to convince people that a news was false. However, every false news spread by the BJP is exposing it’s corruption and Congressmen should look at bringing out only the truth in front of the public, he said and added that truth always prevails over lie.
