Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed confidence on Friday that Congress would return to power for the second consecutive term in the state.
Speaking with media persons at Mysuru Airport, the chief minister has expressed doubt over the status of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa who has been telling people on the possibility of some ministers and MLAs being caught by the Income-Tax officials on charges of money laundering. “Yeddyurappa has been telling people that a few ministers and MLAs are set to be caught by the Income-Tax officers for money laundering or black money. I am at loss to understand the logic of Yeddyurappa. How does he have such vital information? Is Yeddyurappa an agent of Income-Tax officials?’’ the chief minister asked.

He was in Mysuru to participate in various programmes. He said that people who hold responsible positions should think twice before issuing any statement. “The people who are in responsible positions should not make allegations without evidence,’’ he said.

The chief minister said Congress would come back to power for the second consecutive term and it would be impossible for BJP and JD(S) to prevent Congress getting majority of seats in the next Assembly elections. “Congress certainly will come to power again for the second consecutive term. BJP and JD(S) leaders are day-dreaming to come to power in the state. I am sure that people of Karnataka will not support BJP and JD(S) in the next Assembly elections. I am confident of people electing Congress to power again in the state,’’ the chief minister said.

On non-inclusion of Kannada language for writing National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), the chief minister said that he has directed Karnataka State Chief Secretary to write a letter to the Central Government in this regard.

On the grievances Rangayana artistes of Mysuru, the chief minister said that he had advised Kannada and Culture Minister Umahsree to sort out all the issues. “I am confident of finding a solution to the problems of Rangayana artistes,’’ he said.
