Bengaluru: The recently conducted IT raid on properties linked to senior Congress leader Dr G Parameshwar has revealed that he owes property tax worth Rs 45.26 lakhs to the Gram Panchayat.
According to the documents, Parameshwar’s medical college has not paid property tax since the financial year 2016-17 to the Kuluvanahalli Gram Panchayat in Nelamangala taluk.
Sources also said that the proprietors of the college had refused to pay property tax despite recieving several reminders.
The former Deputy Chief Minister was not available for comment.
Following criticism that Congress leaders are the only ones being targeted with raids, the IT department is likely to issue a press statement by today evening.
