Bengaluru: Former CM, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has alleged that the JDS and Congress leaders approached four of the party’s lawmakers assuring better opportunities in the coalition government.
Speaking to reporters, BSY alleged that the ruling coalition government is trying to divide the opposition and create political instability in the state. He, however, refused to name the MLAs who were approached by the JDS and Congress leaders.
He alleged that the leaders of the coalition government are using power, money and the police to lure the BJP’s MLAs in the name of political strategy.
According to sources with the BJP, BSY held a meeting with the party’s state leaders including Shobha Karandlaje, Basavaraja Bommai, V Somanna, Ravi Kumar and others late on Wednesday night at his residence and discussed the prevailing political scenario in the state.
The BJP sources also said that the party is continuing its efforts to poach at least six Congress MLAs. “We are hopeful of bringing down the government by February 8 and forming a new government,” said a party lawmaker from Mysuru.
