Bengaluru: In a big jolt to the JDS, which is loosing its grip in the Vokkaliga heartland of Old Mysuru region, party leader, former minister GT Devegowda met BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh, on Saturday late evening.
According to sources close to Gowda, both the leaders discussed about the future politics in the state. This meeting came within few hours after JDS state president HK Kumaraswamy warned action against Gowda, directed him to make his intentions clear and specify whether he will remain in the JDS or join the BJP.
According to the sources, both the leaders discussed about the possibility of Gowda’s induction into the BJP and his expectations from the party.
Gowda, who was the higher education minister in the coalition government led by HD Kumaraswamy is maintaining distance from the party after the collapse of the government. In the recently held MLC election, he voted for BJP candidate Lakshman Savadi, Deputy Chief Minister in BSY government, leaving the JDS leaders red faced.
