Bengaluru: One of the most familiar faces of the city is JDS leader Prabhakara Reddy, thanks to the numerous hoardings that he has put up across the city! Reddy, who is running a slew of real estate projects and the educational institutions is now in the CCB custody following the complaints of cheating by a number of investors from across South India.
CCB police arrested Reddy from his Rajarajeshwari Nagar residence. The CCB police led by DCP Girish seized land documents worth of Rs.300 crores. If sources in the CCB are to be believed, then Reddy declined to open his house doors and threatened to transfer them all to places where they would be deprived of even drinking water.
Once the police entered the residence forcibly, they found Reddy hidden inside the bathroom.
Reddy is presently with the JDS after he broke his ties with the Congress and the BJP earlier.
According to the CCB police, Reddy is facing 40 cheating cases, mostly related to real estate projects. “His modus operandi is encroaching the government land and later producing the fake documents and selling it to the middle-class families.
The investors used to come to know about the cheating only when they start construction works,” said CCB police.
