Joy ride vehicle thieves nabbed: Interrogation reveals theft, dacoity and murder bids

Bengaluru: The JP Nagar police have arrested two persons for stealing two-wheelers in the city. Police have identified the accused as Syed Akram (23), residing at 2ndCross, behind Mariyamma Temple, near Vinayaka Talkies, Cottonpet, and Toushif (22), from OTC Road, Akkipet Market, Cottonpet.

The police have recovered 13 two-wheelers worth Rs 7 Lakh and two mobile phones from the accused. According to the police, the accused used to steal the two-wheeler by using duplicate keys. It was said the accused used to abandon those vehicles at an isolated place after using them for joy rides.

Another two-wheeler thief nabbed in Basaveshwaranagar

Similarly, the Basaveshwaranagar police have arrested another person for allegedly stealing two-wheelers in Bengaluru. The police have identified the accused as Sachin Kumar alias Putta (22) from Gonebeedu Hosapura village in Moodigere taluk of Chikmagaluru district and residing at 1st Cross, Dharmaraya Temple Road, Kogilu Cross, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. The police have nabbed him along with Yamaha R15.

The police said the accused has confessed to the crime during the interrogation. It is said the accused used to commit crime to lead luxurious life. Based on the information given by the accused, the police have recovered seven two-wheelers worth Rs 5 lakh; solved seven theft cases, one dacoity and two attempt to murder cases.
