Bengaluru: As the assembly by-poll results on Monday, December 9, came in favour of the BJP with 12 out of 15 seats, Congress with 2 and JD(S) with 0, the election reports have revealed that the NOTA votes were more than that of the JD(S) votes in three constituencies.
In the Yellapur constituency, Chaitra Gowda from JD(S) had got only 1,235 votes against BJP’ Shivaram Hebbar who had won with a margin of 31,408 votes. Here, the NOTA votes were 1,444.
Ranebennur JD(S) candidate Mallikarjun Rudrappa Halgeri managed to get only 979 against BJP candidate Arun Kumar Guttur, who had won with a margin of 23,222 votes. The NOTA votes were 1,608.
K R Pura had recorded the highest number of NOTA votes – 5181 votes. Here, JD(S)’ Krishnamurthy had managed to get 2,048 votes, while the BJP candidate Byrathi Basavaraj had won with a margin of 62,820 votes.
