Bengaluru: MP Sumalatha Ambareesh urged the state government to investigate allegations that KRS dam has developed cracks.
KRS dam is the lifeline of the entire south Karnataka region. It is built across the river Cauvery.
“Due to the rampant stone mining in the region, KRS dam developed cracks,” she alleged.
“I have information that the dam developed cracks. Only an investigation by experts can reveal the truth. However local politicians are not allowing any kind of inspection by the experts,” she charged.
She urged the state government to order for an inquiry and give a factual report.
