Bengaluru: The court hearing in the ‘Operation Lotus’ case allegedly perpetrated by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on JD(S) MLA Nagangouda Kandkur, when Congress-JD(S) coalition was in power in the state, has been postponed to November 7.
It can be recalled that, when the Congress-JD(S) state coalition government was in power, an audio tape had emerged where the then BJP state president BSY allegedly tried to convince Nagangouda to join the BJP and offered his son, Sharangouda, money to do the same. Sharanagouda had filed a case against BSY in this regard alleging that the latter had tried to bribe him.
Soon after this, the Karnataka High Court had imposed a stay on the First Information Report (FIR) filed against BSY.
Sharangouda had moved the HC requesting them to continue the case, after which the Kalaburgi bench of the HC decided to hear the case on November 7.
BJP MLAs Preetham Gowda, Shivanagouda Naik and BSY’s close aide M B Maramkal were also implicated in the case.
