Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 1,869 Covid-19 cases and 42 deaths on Saturday July 17, bringing the total number of cases to 28.82 lakh and the death toll to 36,121.
According to a health department bulletin, 3,144 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of those released to 28,16,013, leaving 30,082 active cases in the state.
Bengaluru Urban district had the most cases, with 432, followed by Dakshina Kannada with 218, Mysuru with 207, Hassan with 173, and Chikkamagaluru with 101.
It added that Mysuru topped in terms of fatalities, with seven, followed by Bengaluru Urban district and Belagavi with six each, Dakshina Kannada with five, Kolar with four, with the rest of the numbers spread among various districts.
On Saturday, a total of 1,42,856 Covid tests were done, bringing the total to 3.67 crore. On the same day, 1,86,432 people were vaccinated, bringing the total number of people inoculated to 2.70 crore.
According to the department, the positive rate was 1.30 percent and the case fatality rate was 2.24 percent.
