Bengaluru: Senior IPS officer Kamal Panth has been appointed as the new Bengaluru City Commissioner of Police.
His predecessor, Bhaskar Rao has been transferred to the internal security wing of the state police.
Interestingly, Rao completed one year as the city’s Commissioner of Police on this very day.
Kamal Panth is considered to be one of the toughest officers in the ranks of the Karnataka Police force.
What makes his appointment as Bengaluru’s CoP interesting is that no one lobbied for him as a candidate. He was selected purely on the basis of his merit and service record.
