Bengaluru: Numerous Kannada organisations led by T. A. Narayana Gowda of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) launched a Twitter campaign against the Hindi imposition on Tuesday September 14.
The campaign will continue till 10.00 pm. It is a 12-hour-long Twitter campaign against Central Government’s Hindi imposition on Karnataka.
A hashtag of #StopHindiImposition is used by the Kannada activists to make the campaign go viral on social media.
Narayana Gowda informed that along with Twitter, the campaign is in progress on all the social media platforms.
“The Central Government is spending a huge amount in the name of strengthening Hindi in the state. The Central Government must respect the local languages. Hindi can’t be State language” he said.
