Bengaluru: According to a report in the Times of India, the licenses of 110 chemist shops across Karnataka have been suspended by the state drug controller authority for failing to notify the government about the purchase of fever, cough and cold medicines.

As part of Covid-19 surveillance, the state government had earlier instructed all chemists and druggists to inform the government about every purchase of medicines for fever, cough, and cold which are prominent symptoms of Covid19.

The chemists are mandated to upload the buyer’s details along with their names and contact numbers in the government’s online portal.
