Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa from his Home Office, Krishna, in Bengaluru on Saturday June 5 symbolically launched the Covid relief amount of Rs 3,000 each to the bank accounts of the 25 lakh construction workers in the State through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
CM has already approved release of Rs 749.55 crore towards payment of Rs 3,000 each to the bank accounts of the 25 lakh construction workers in the State through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode as part of the Rs 1,250 crore package announced in the first instalment.
Yediyurappa said that unorganised workers in 11 different trades such as barbers, dhobhis or washermen, tailors, hamals, domestic workers, mechanics, rag pickers, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, cobblers and so on numbering about 3.3 lakh have been promised one-time cash relief of Rs 2,000 each, applications for claiming the amount will have to be submitted through the Seva Sindhu portal.
