Karnataka government allows hotels, restaurants to open

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, here on Saturday, allowed hotels and restaurants to reopen, but asked them to follow all Covid-19 precautions.

“As per the guidelines of the Union government, restaurants and hotels are being allowed to open in the state, but following the prescribed precautionary measures is mandatory,” said Yediyurappa.

He also held a meeting with the tourism and transport sector organisations regarding a promotional drive to revive tourism and remove the obstacles. A delegation of bus owners association, hotel owners and taxi owners also participated in the meeting.

Yediyurappa assured them that he would review their demands and initiate appropriate decisions.

The Chief Minister also released a booklet of guidelines to be followed after reopening of hotels, tourist spots and hospitality wings.

Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi, Tourism Minister C.T. Ravi and KSTDC president Shruthi and other senior officials were also present.
