Bengaluru: In a major decision, the State Government decided to extend the boiled egg scheme to all the districts of the State.

Eggs will be distributed along with midday meals. For those kids who don’t eat eggs, bananas or chikki will be distributed.

The scheme will cover all the students studying in the government and government-aided schools between classes I and VIII.

It can be recalled that earlier, the BJP was opposing eggs in midday meals citing it will divide society. Now, the party government has launched the scheme to ensure better health among kids.

According to sources, the government will launch the scheme soon with the Finance Department approving this proposal.
