Bengaluru: The State Government has issued an order for buying school buses for students in government schools.
The government added the bus facility to increase admission in the state’s government schools, where it has been rapidly declining.
Speaking to mediapersons Education Minister B. C. Nagesh said that the schools that admit 10 or less students would be shifted to nearby Government Model Schools. He added that school buses will be introduced to bring children to these model schools.
These funds will be covered by grants obtained by the MLA under the Karnataka Legislators’ Local Area Development Scheme (KLLADS).
According to sources, the Education Department would initially implement the school bus facility at 200 schools throughout the State.
