Karnataka Govt revises guidelines for int’l travellers

Bengaluru: The State Government on Thursday January 6 revised the guidelines for international travellers testing positive for Coronavirus on arrival.

According to the new guidelines, asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic positive persons on arrival need not be hospitalised but will be isolated at government-run Covid Care Centres or identified budget hotels, which are attached to private hospitals for seven days as per travellers’ affordability. Stay at government-run Covid Care Centres is free. They will get a discharged after seven days only if they are free of fever, respiratory symptoms for previous three days and have maintained oxygen saturation level of 94 % and above. Covid test is not needed before discharge.

Once discharged, the travellers must home-quarantine themselves for another seven days. The new guidelines has come as a relief to international travellers.
