Bengaluru: Allaying fears about a dearth of Covid-19 vaccines, Karnataka Health Minister, K Sudhakar assured that there was no shortage of vaccines in Karnataka.
He told reporters that, “I can assure that there is no dearth of Covid-19 medicine or vaccines in Karnataka.
He added that Karnataka is lucky to have all three companies manufacturing Remedisivir and they have assured the state with supplies. Karnataka will be procuring supplies for both government and private hospitals.
Recently, various states including the neighbourhood state of Maharashtra reported a shortage of vaccines.
After calling an all-party meeting on April 18 to review the Covid situation, Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai ruled out the possibility of a lockdown despite Chief Minister, BS Yediyurappa saying that lockdown may be imposed if the need arises two days ago.
As of today, the state reported 2,632 new Covid-19 cases and 67 deaths.
