Bengaluru: On Wednesday, Karnataka recorded 103 new Covid-19 cases and one death, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 479. Bengaluru accounted for the majority of the new cases, with 80 reported, followed by 8 in Mandya, and three each in Ballari and Mysuru, among other districts.
The deceased individual was a 53-year-old man from Mysuru who had severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) and passed away on December 25.
According to the health department’s bulletin, 87 patients have been discharged after treatment in the past 24 hours. A total of 7,262 tests were conducted during this period, including 5,607 RT-PCR tests and 1,655 Rapid Antigen tests. The positivity rate stands at 1.41%, while the case fatality rate is 0.97%.
Out of the 479 active cases, 422 individuals are under home isolation, and 57 are hospitalized, including 19 in intensive care. The state continues its efforts to manage and monitor the Covid-19 situation, providing updates to keep the public informed about the latest developments.
