Bengaluru: Karnataka officials held 22,116 inspections between July 1 and July 31 and seized 115,259.64 kg of Single Use Plastic (SUP) from the State. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) shared the state-level data on Friday August 5.
The Union Environment Ministry imposed a ban on single-use plastics on July 1.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) marshals in Bengaluru seized 10,962.31 kg of plastic within the same period.
A total of Rs 36,612,525 in fines were imposed for violations throughout the state, of which Rs. 21,48,600 were imposed against offenders in Bengaluru. 4,414 of the 15,629 violations reported last month in the State came from Bengaluru.
