Karnataka Postal Workers Declare Indefinite Strike from Dec 12

Bengaluru: In a significant development, the All-India Gramin Dak Sevaks Union (AIGDSU) has announced an indefinite strike set to commence on December 12, encompassing the entire state of Karnataka. The primary motivation behind this move is to press for the fulfillment of various demands articulated by the dedicated postal workers.

During a press conference convened in Bengaluru on Friday, Union General Secretary S.S. Mahadevaiah underscored the pivotal demands of the rural postal service employees. Foremost among these is the insistence on according to civil servant status to postal workers, coupled with the implementation of an 8-hour duty cycle and the associated benefits
