The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike orchestrated a widespread protest across Karnataka, including Bengaluru, on Monday, advocating for legislation guaranteeing job opportunities for Kannadigas in both government and private sectors. The demonstrators, led by Karave President TA Narayanagowda, highlighted their demands at Freedom Park in Bengaluru and submitted a protest letter at district collector offices statewide.

Narayanagowda lamented the necessity of protesting for Kannadiga employment, asserting, “It’s regrettable that we must protest for Kannadigas’ job rights. Kannadigas are peace-loving, but others exploit this. We must unite now; otherwise, there will be grave consequences.” The Kannada Sahitya Parishad (Kasapa) supported the cause, emphasizing priority job access for Kannadigas, backed by figures like actress Pooja Gandhi and actor Nenapirali Prem.

Pooja Gandhi affirmed, “Kannadigas should rightfully have priority for jobs in Karnataka. I stand with this cause.” Nenapirali Prem echoed his support, stressing the implementation of the Sarojini Mahishi report, with strong backing from Karnataka’s cultural community encompassing literature, music, and folklore.
