Karnataka reports 6 additional COVID-19 cases; Total climbs to 197

Bengaluru: Within a span of 24 hours, Karnataka reported a total of 16 news COVID-19 cases on Thursday, April 9. The total now stands at 197, including six deaths and 30 discharges.

Of the 161 active cases, one is a pregnant woman, two are in the ICU (one on oxygen and one on a ventilator), and three are children ranging from four to 13 years of age.

Earlier in the day, 10 new cases were reported by the health department.

The details of the six additional cases are as follows:

Patient 192 is a 40-year-old woman from Belgavi and is the mother of Patient 128. Patient 193 is a 22-year-old man from Belagavi and is the brother of Patient 128.

Patient 194 is a 27-year-old man from Dharwad with a history of travel to Delhi.

Patient 195 is a 66-year-old man from Bengaluru and is has (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness). He arrived from Manipur on March 12.

Patient 196 (a 42-year-old man from Bengaluru) and Patient 197 (a 27-year-old man from Bengaluru) also have SARI.
