Karnataka: Salaries of over 32,159 guest teachers released

Bengaluru: The State Government has released Rs. 17,505.23 lakh towards the salaries of 32,159 guest teachers serving in government primary and high schools. Over 27,000 guest instructors will receive salaries totalling Rs. 13,566.33 lakh in government primary schools, and guest teachers at government high schools would receive payments totalling Rs. 3938.90 lakh.

Shreekrishna N. Bugatyagol, special officer (Zilla Panchayat) and ex-officio Joint Secretary to the Finance Department, issued an order in this regard, and Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot gave his approval.

These guest teachers are filling the over 40,000 open teaching jobs in the 48,000 government schools spread throughout the State. More than 1,000 guest teachers are working in government primary schools alone in every district of the North Karnataka Region, including 2,921 in Belagavi, 2,188 in Raichuru, 2,060 in Kalaburagi, 1,895 in Yadgir, 1,447 in Vijayapura, 1,233 in Bagalakote, 1,180 in Koppal, 1,098 in Ballari, and 1,027 in Vijayanagara. In each district, there are more than 800 guest teachers working in government primary schools, including 955 in Dakshina Kannada, 848 in Mysuru, 853 in Mandya, and 851 in Shivamogga.
