Bengaluru: The Karnataka Development Authority (KDA) has issued a warning to the Kerala government against changing the names of border areas like Manjeshwara, Madhuru, Pilikunje, Kumble, Hosadurga etc.
Speaking to media persons here T. S. Nagabharana, chairman of the KDA informed that changing the names of these villages is nothing but an attack on Kannada.
“These are the unique names. These names are associated with the Kannada culture, life, history etc,” he stressed.
“If the names are changed, the KDA will hold protests besides legal action,” he added.
Mysuru MP Pratap Simha also has opposed the name change of Kannada dominated villages in Kerala.
