A 19-year-old nursing student from Kerala was found dead in her hostel room at Dr. Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER) on Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru. Authorities suspect suicide but have yet to determine the exact cause.

The first-year student, who had been enrolled for six months, was discovered around 8 PM on Tuesday. College officials immediately informed the police, who arrived to conduct a preliminary inquiry.

Harohalli Police Inspector M. Following this, police registered a case under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The student’s body was sent to Rajarajeshwari Medical College for an autopsy before being handed over to her family.

This marks the second student suicide in Bengaluru within 48 hours. A 22-year-old master’s student was also found dead on the Jnanabharathi campus on Tuesday. Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents to determine the circumstances leading to their deaths.
