Kolar: Former Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar announced his political retirement on Sunday. He made the announcement while addressing an election meeting organized for the Congress candidate KV Goutam at Addgal village, which is Ramesh Kumar’s birthplace.
He stated that he would not contest the next Assembly election and would retire from politics honorably. Ramesh Kumar said that he had sustained in politics without engaging in any wrongdoing and had remained upright and honest throughout his political journey.
He criticized some party leaders for their unjust actions, which contributed to his defeat by accepting money from the opposition. He condemned their immoral politics driven by a thirst for power and warned that they would suffer in the future.
Ramesh Kumar mentioned that he would not seek votes from the people in the next Assembly election, and he clarified that his son Harsha would also not enter politics. This indicates that his family members will not pursue political careers.
