Kolar: Sakhi, differently-abled, model and traditional polling booths are inviting voters to cast their votes in various ways this time, said District SVEEP Committee President Yukesh Kumar.
Out of the 1,597 polling booths in six Assembly Constituencies in the District under the leadership of Kolar District Sveep Committee, 46 polling stations will be elected in various ways this time. Of these, 30 sakhi gulabi polling booths, 6 differently-abled booths and 10 traditional heritage polling booths have been set up. Each polling station will attract voters in different ways.
Model polling booths with pictures commemorating milk and silk growers in the district as well as nandini milk, the pride product of Karnataka, and the proud dosa of Mulbagal, attract voters.
Sakhi polling booths have been set up at 30 centres in the District with an aim to attract women towards voting and to enable women to go to the polling booths to cast their votes without any hesitation. Five sakhi polling booths in each Constituency will attract women voters.
“The people of the District should come forward to vote 100 per cent and only then will this special campaign in association with the District Administration and Zilla Panchayat will be successful,” Kumar said.
