Kolar: In protest against the Centre’s anti-farmer attitude of mortgaging Nandini, the property of Kannadigas, to Amul products a farmers’ union decided to lay siege to the MP’s Office along with cattle on Thursday April 13.
Speaking at a meeting of the Raitha Sangha held at the APMC Premises in the City, Taluk President Yaluvalli Prabhakar warned the people’s representatives that if the order to provide a market for the sale of Amul milk products in Karnataka is not withdrawn, the BJP leaders coming to seek votes will be given a welcome with broom in rural areas, he added.
It is ironic that a lot of bad eyes in the country are falling on Karnataka. “At a time when Maharashtra’s eyes are on Belagavi is getting strong, there has been a distortion by some people with regard to Nandini milk, the pride of our State,” he said.
“If the order allowing the sale of Amul products is not withdrawn by ignoring Kannadigas’ Nandini within 24 hours, we will gherao the MP’s Office along with cattle on Thursday and seek justice. Our fight is for the survival of Nandini, the property of our Kannadigas,” he added.
