Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) invited All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi to contest from any of the 20 constituencies of the state.
Speaking to the reporters in Chamarajanagar, party state unit president Dinesh Gundurao informed that state leadership has made a formal request in this regard. “The Gandhi family has an emotional attachment with the state. So we invited RaGa to contest from the state too. If he contests, the party will sweep all the constituencies in the state,” he said.
Later in the day, the several state leaders tweeted tagging RaGa to contest from the state.
No final decision: According to the sources, RaGa may not contest from the state due to various reasons. “There is no such constituency which can be called as safe for the Congress now. So he may not take the risk,” said a Congress leader.
