Bengaluru: Congress leader and KPCC president post aspirant D K Shivakumar has reportedly failed to get a meeting with AICC interim-president Sonia Gandhi and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi to discuss the matter of the next KPCC chief.

DKShi, who had flown to New Delhi recently with the intention of meeting Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, was not able to get an appointment to meet either of them. However, he managed to meet some other members of the party’s high command.

Party sources have said that DKShi, realizing that there was no point in waiting for an appointment, returned to Bengaluru on Wednesday, January 29. It is said that he left the two a message.

It can be recalled that earlier, Karnataka Assembly Opposition leader Siddaramaiah had met Sonia and Rahul in Delhi and had got an appointment to discuss the appointment of the KPCC president. Sources from the inner circles of the party had informed that Siddaramaiah had placed before them his demand for the creation of four KPCC working president posts.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that DKShi wanted to meet Sonia and Rahul because he wanted to express his unhappiness over Siddaramaiah’s decision to create four KPCC working president posts. It is also said that he spoke to Karnataka Congress in-charge K C Venugopal and expressed his distress over Siddaramaiah’s demands and urged the party high command not to adhere to his demands.
