The KR Puram police have apprehended two individuals involved in stealing a bag containing ₹4 lakh in cash by diverting a car owner’s attention. The incident occurred near TC Palya on November 29, 2024.

The accused, along with five accomplices, deflated the car’s tyre while the victim was inside a bank withdrawing money. Upon his return, the accused offered help to push the vehicle to a puncture shop. While the victim focused on fixing the tyre, the thieves fled with the bag kept on the dashboard.

Following a complaint by the victim, a Devasandra resident, the police arrested the suspects near Bommanahalli gate on Budigere Road on December 11. The stolen cash was recovered from their residence.

Investigations revealed that the same duo had committed a similar crime in Kothanur on May 16. They escaped with gold ornaments from another victim after diverting attention outside a bank. Efforts are underway to track the remaining five gang members.
