KSOU fake marks card racket: Police widen net, nab two more

Mysuru: Jayalakashmipuram Police nabbed two more persons, including a coordinator of a distance education cell based in Hubballi in connection with the fake marks card supply racket.

Manjunath Kulkarni, coordinator at KSOU cell based in Hubballi and Mallanna, food security officer from Shahapur were nabbed by the police.

They had provided fake marks cards to Sharanappa and Satish of Ganagavathi in Koppal district, Ramesh G Reddy of Chikkodi, Kashi M Vali of Sandur in Bellary district, Shivayogappa of Surapura in Yadgir district to facilitate their promotion in government departments.

The KSOU Registrar had complained to Jayalakshmipuram police about the involvement of the duo in forging signatures and seal of the KSOU.

Based on the complaint, police swung into action and nabbed the accused duo in Hubballi on July 29. They were produced in the court and remanded to 4-day police custody.

Further investigations are in progress.
