BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched a new Flybus service for the convenience of commuters travelling between Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and Davangere. The initiative aims to improve long-distance airport connectivity and enhance passenger comfort through premium travel amenities.

Route and schedule

According to a report by Deccan Herald, the Flybus service will depart from Bengaluru airport at 10 am and 12:45 pm daily. The travel time between Bengaluru and Davangere is estimated to be around five hours. The bus route will pass through Satellite Town Ring Road, Doddaballapur bypass, Dobbspet, Tumakuru bypass, and Chitradurga bypass, ensuring smooth intercity connectivity.

The service will be operated using Volvo seater buses, known for their comfortable interiors and smooth ride quality.

Fare details

The fare for the Flybus service has been fixed at ₹1,250 from Bengaluru Airport to Davangere, ₹980 up to Chitradurga, and ₹400 for Tumakuru. Tickets can be booked through KSRTC’s online portal or at airport counters.

Complimentary Nandini snacks for passengers

In a move to enhance the travel experience, KSRTC has announced that passengers on its Flybus airport services will receive complimentary light snack kits featuring products from Nandini, the flagship brand of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).

Officials stated that the initiative aims to provide a “flight-like travel experience” on its premium intercity airport shuttles. The collaboration also serves to promote the Nandini brand by showcasing its dairy-based snacks and beverages to passengers.

KSRTC’s sustainable travel initiatives

The Flybus service has been part of KSRTC’s efforts to improve airport connectivity across Karnataka. The corporation already operates services linking Bengaluru Airport to Mysuru, Mangaluru, Madikeri, Manipal, Udupi, and Kundapura.

Earlier, KSRTC had provided complimentary bottled drinking water to passengers on its premium buses. However, in October 2019, the corporation discontinued single-use plastic bottles in support of environmental sustainability, coinciding with the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Conclusion

With this new route, KSRTC continues to expand its premium Flybus network while offering travellers a blend of comfort, convenience, and eco-conscious travel. The addition of the Bengaluru–Davangere route is expected to benefit commuters and business travellers alike, further strengthening intercity connectivity in the state.
