Bengaluru: Several academicians from the state signed a pro-CAA and NRC letter written to the Central Government with the title ‘Statement in Support of the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019’.
According to the letter circulated widely on social media, IISc Students’ Council Ex-Chairman Dr. Naveen B R, Er Vishwanatha V, PhD student B Girish, writer Raksha R, Ambedkar Institute of Technology Rani MT, Sourabh Dixit, PR Dheeraj, Amit Sharma, Chevening Fellow, MAHE Assistant Professor Manmohan Krishna signed this letter which is over 26 pages long.
In their letter, these academicians observed that CAA and NRC are required to strengthen the border and make the country safe. Interestingly, no one from government universities signed this letter which was submitted to the Union Home Ministry.
