Bengaluru: The BJP state unit is planning to move a pro-CAA resolution in the state assembly. The idea is to appease Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

The state assembly session will restart from Monday, March 2, after a week’s break.

CM BS Yediyurappa will present his budget on March 5.

“Before budget, BJP state unit wants a pro-CAA resolution. It will be moved by any BJP MLAs from the coastal Karnataka,” explained a BJP leader.

“A section of BJP MLAs who want to enjoy the confidence of the party leaders are behind this move,” he explained.

It can be recalled that central government is under immense pressure following recent violent protests against CAA legislation and anti-CAA legislations moved by several state assemblies including NDA ruled Bihar.
