Bengaluru: Despite the state-wide bundh call given by the various farmers’ organisations on Monday, September 28, Deputy CM Laxman Savadi has said that the bundh will not disrupt the movement of KSRTC buses in the state.
He stated that the KSRTC, BMTC, North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) will function as usual.
“All necessary steps have been taken for the smooth movement of the public transport vehicles tomorrow. People need not worry about the same,” Savadi said adding that anyone attempting to damage the buses or any other public property will be dealt with in stern manner.
Condemning the decision of various organisations to go ahead with the bundh, the DCM said that the APMC act and the Land Reform Act have been brought in by the government for the well-being of the farmers.
“The CM has explained clearly how the acts are only going to benefit the farmers. However, failing to understand the same, the organisations have decided to go ahead with the bundh. It is unfortunate,” he said.
